Indexability
Whether a page can be stored and shown by search engines in their results.
Indexability refers to a search engine's ability to analyze and store a webpage in its database (the index). A page can be "crawlable" (meaning a bot can reach it) but "no-indexed" (meaning the bot is told not to show it in search results). Indexability is the final gate a page must pass to actually start receiving organic traffic.
For care homes, hidden indexability issues often occur during website redesigns, where "no-index" tags used during development are accidentally left on the live site. This results in the page being invisible to searchers. Regular "site health" checks ensure that all your high-value pages—like your care service descriptions and contact forms—are fully indexable and ready to appear when families search.
